Here they are. My 3 I have narrowed it down to are 1, 3, and 4. These are numbered left to right and top to bottom, meaning 1 and 2 are the top row, 3 and 4 are the second, etc… Any input would be greatly appreciated. Also I am only doing these in B&W but may add one accent color, which would be red. Let me know what you guys think.

I think the second and fourth ones on the first column (aka 3 and 7)would look good together.
I know this will be a clean piece but all I see are to design ideas. A cup-on-stripe design and checkers flat on. It’s saying “Race”, but you’re not letting yourself expand with enough ideas yet. How about some more movement.
Maybe some steam blowing back from the coffee mug on top left one? May help you utilize all of your panels better and show some movement.
Thanks everyone for your input, and who are you “imfromthefutura”? Great name! What my plan was is to actually add a motion blur effect on the coffee mug in photoshop to add the feeling movement. All these thumbs are hand rendered so I didn’t know how to add this before I build it all in computer. Guess I could’ve smudged the ink or something. Oh well.

Ok, I tried the motion blur thing, which although it is cool looking, doesn’t fit with the style I have going on here. Kinda made it look like me adding a digital element to something that is supposed to look hand-rendered. I tried several different things to counter act the stagnant feel of my piece and hopefully you will all approve tomorrow. I did however address the issues called to my attention, which were; lack of motion or movement and the empty panel that seemed to bother a lot of you for some reason. I personally don’t think that the empty square is distracting but you will all see how I handle these issues tomorrow if I can get this done. See you in the am!!!!!!!
It’s not that empty space is bad, it’s just that the assignment calls for three illustrations. Can’t wait to see everyone’s stuff tomorrow!
