So first I did roughs…
then I went literal..
and then I compromised….
why can’t I turn my image sideways? I was trying to give Matt P a larger image but…. Also, I would not be using marker on this but this is an idea…
and I’m thinking that the ball would be like an orange tattoo- should we limit our color palette? Also, I realize that these are not the right colors but blue and purple mainly…
I think the hornet is looking more angry but you can still push it a little further. Think about the positioning of the eyebrows.
Lookin’ angrier! Remember when I told you the eyes should arch and push it further. :) Something like this…
thanks Matt! that was really very helpful! I appreciate you showing me what you’re talking about on the image that I had drawn- will make it easier for me to make those changes! :)
No probs, man! You may also find this tutorial helpful in the future…
^^ More extreme than that though. That was just my quick sketch on what I meant by angry eyes.
He is gettin’ a bit more pissed off. If you’re not going to use markers, how are you going to render it?
lol- well, that’s a good question there, buddy…. I was going to try my best at photoshop/illustrator and hope for the best….. suggestions?
This is looking very interesting. For someone who was so scared of this piece, you’re coming right along. Don’t give up.
And guys, great job of commenting and suggesting and supporting. Kudos.
It took me a second to figure out what I was looking at with the sideways one. This is looking great. What if you shrank him down a little and had the team name or logo subtly peeking through the background?
I like where you are going with this one; just be careful about things bumping up against the edge when you do the final one. Right now he feels like he’s being compressed by the edges.
